Boreas Seabed, Muted

Well, I went with a guild group last night to run the Boreas Seabed mission. After a lot of unplugging and plugging in of my headset/microphone, I realized that the microphone wire was frayed and needs to be repaired, so…. I sit in Teamspeak with fellow guildies and can't communicate with them 2 way! Thankfully Jenn was there, and could relay any important information about what I was doing in game at the time.

After going through the Boreas Seabed last night, I realized how easy that mission really is.. I want to say that it took us roughly 10 minutes to run it , and that was with a lot of poking around and slow going. Anyhow, we defeated the Hanuku, retrieved the staff, and received the masters reward!

A Quad-Vanq weekend!

Spent a LOT of time in tyria during this past lucky weekend. I didn't notice too much of a difference in the drop rate for Lockpicks and keys, but others reported differently. Anyway, Kaboom Z and Angelic Jennifer successfully vanquished the following: Nebo Terrace, Watchmens Coast, North Kryta Province, and the Cursed Lands! That’s a lot of vanqing! :) Anyway, the only area that gave us any trouble was really North Kryta Province. Why? Because of the Imp's! The Imp Patrols make everything so much more complicated. You have to be aware of the patrol path so as not to agro one group of them, only to get sucked into battle with 1 or 2 more groups that patrol the same road, or valley. Ultimately, the biggest problem, as with all areas with heavy patrols, is that we had to hunt down several patrols towards the end of the vanquishing
Session. All of the Tengu out there aren't that bad as long as you have a good healer (or good hero healer) and a little patience.

Tombs is fun !

Once again, Jenn and I hosted the Friday night tombs run for our Guild. It's always fun, especially when there are new comers and veterans mixed together. The general rule in tombs when you are new is that you will die at some point, you just depend on your teammates to get you back up, and drop dp! Which brings me to my next point: Tombs and DP! Unless the entire party is suffering from a 25+ DP, it's really not necessary to use clovers or candy canes to recover some of the DP. Given the level and amount of experience you will receive from slaying creatures, you will find that even the most extreme individual DP can be recovered in the natural way. Having said that, to each their own!

Finally, after dozens of tombs runs and countless hours drolling over the thought.. I finally got the Victo's Bulwark in my loot drop from the Darknesses at the end of tombs.. At this point, I have received at least 1 of each green at the end of tombs, and, of course, sold them for plat! :)

More later, we have vanquishing to do!

Vanqing Tyria, One Zone at a Time

Well, yesterday was pretty productive. We managed to vanquish Deldrimore Bowl as well as Iron Horse Mine. Deldrimore was REALLY difficult. We didn't die all that often, but getting past the healing circles with multiple Shiverpeak Protectors is not easy.. Especially when one of them is a boss monk. My suggestion is that you bring a Necro with Mark of Subversion. It works well on monks. Iron Horse mine wasn't nearly as difficult, but still had it's issues. The biggest one is that Iron Horse has several patrols that literally walk from one end of the map, to the other. So you end up having to hunt down parties towards the end.. The Dolyak Riders are pretty formidable at times, but again, Mark of Subversion takes them down swiftly. Our biggest asset in this area was Jenn's kick-ass Ele' Nuker build. I would get my Koss in position to pin the Monk/Dolyak, and her Meteroshower would do the rest, with a little Mark of Subversion and Shadow Strike thrown in for a little extra ooph!

Anyway, I think we're going to back-peddle now, and start vanquishing everything in the Tyrian map that lies before Yak's Bend. Which is of course, a LOT of space. Most of it is 4 man, so I am hoping we can structure a good build to take care of it all. I'll be very happy once we move into the areas BEYOND Becons Perch, such as North Kryta, etc. 4 Man parties will be a struggle no matter where you are. The 6 man gives you a little more freedom, and by the time we hit the crystal desert , 8 man will make things a lot easier. Or , at least continue to make them more manageable. The caveat to ALL of this is, I am terrified of Majesty's Rest.... I think Rot Skale in Hardmode will be a big challenge. But with the right build, not impossible.

Starting off, and the hell that is the Marga Coast

Welcome! I'm going to be posting my galavants in Guild Wars in this Blog.. Angelic Jennifer and I just re-vang'd Griffons Mouth and Scoundrels Rise in Tyria last night.. We finally have a good hero build for our 6 man, and we're going to be moving along with vanqing at this point.. We tried the build in Marga Coast, in Elona.. Adding Olias running wells, and adding Margrid running as a Spliter/Barrage with interrupts.. Worked REALLY well, but we abandoned it for the sake of time. Well get back to that vanqing soon enough!
